Pick your time

Most maternity clients book between 28 and 34 weeks — far enough along for a visible profile, close enough to maintain energy and comfort for the session. Ed will confirm exact timing based on the evening's sunset and conditions. Let him know your due date and preferred window and he'll help identify the ideal booking date.

Reserve with a deposit

Maternity sessions book out quickly, especially during the spring and fall shoulder seasons when the beach is less crowded and the light is at its best. A deposit secures your date. Ed will send practical notes on what to wear, where to park, and what to expect on the day — everything is handled for you.

Show up and enjoy it

Walk onto the beach and let Ed do the work. He'll guide you gently, suggest movement rather than static poses, and create the kind of atmosphere where you can actually relax and be present. Your full edited gallery — every image worth delivering — arrives within a week of the session.

When is the best time in pregnancy to book a maternity session?

28–34 weeks is the sweet spot — a clear bump, still comfortable to move. Booked further out? Ed will help you pick the date.

What should I wear for a maternity session on the beach?

Form-fitting is your friend — flowing fabric, soft neutrals, or a bold solid. Bring two options. Ed will tell you what reads best in the light.

Can my partner and other children join the session?

Of course. Partners and kids are welcome and often make the best frames. Just mention who's coming so Ed plans for it.

How long does a maternity session take?

Typically 30–60 minutes. Unhurried — long enough to relax into it, short enough that you're not exhausted.

Will I receive images in both color and black and white?
